Serving in the armed forces, I had the honor of witnessing nature’s grandeur and the tenacity of those I served with and the life all around us. Every corner of the world whispered tales of resilience, with its flora and fauna etching indelible marks on my soul.
A pivotal chapter of this journey unfolded in the serene landscapes of Japan. Immersed in a culture which reveres nature, I saw the world through new eyes. It ignited a deep-rooted bond with our planet and a burning passion to safeguard its treasures.
Our planet is a magnificent place, bursting with awe-inspiring biodiversity and landscapes. Yet many of these natural treasures are at risk due to urban development, environmental challenges, and climate change. That’s why at Nurtured Earth we are on a mission – to protect and restore the ecosystems that nourish all life through sustainable landscaping practices.
We are a small and dedicated team focused on supporting native plants and creating wildlife habitats in neighborhoods across East Tennessee. Our objective is to transform urban & suburban areas into havens for native flora and fauna.
We proudly partner with and/or support local champions like the UT Gardens & Arboretum, Anderson County Master Gardeners, Grow Oak Ridge, Knoxville Rescue Squad, Tennessee Nativescapes and many more to spread our mission. Transitioning from a soldier to a guardian of the earth has been my life’s most rewarding odyssey but we can’t do it alone.
